Melbourne is gearing up for some festive fun with the upcoming premiere of Elf The Musical at Crown Live, starting November 27. This year, the spotlight shines on Colin Lane, who will take on the iconic roles of Santa and Mr Greenway. Lane, who’s a staple of Australian comedy as one half of the duo Lano and Woodley, boasts an impressive theatre resume with roles in Peter and the Starcatcher, Don's Party, and Curtains.
The musical, based on the beloved 2003 film, follows Buddy, a human raised among elves at the North Pole. When he learns he’s not actually an elf, he ventures to New York City to reconnect with his biological father, navigating family quirks and holiday mischief along the way.
The cast also includes Gareth Isaac reprising his role as Buddy, alongside Brianna Bishop as Jovie, Adam Murphy as Walter Hobbs, and more. The production features catchy tunes by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, with direction from Eric Giancola.
Tickets for the festive performances will be available starting September 4, with special offers for group bookings. So, gather your friends and get ready for a merry time in Melbourne this Christmas season!
