The memorial will be held at DT's Hotel, a venue synonymous with the vibrant queer nightlife of the city. Doors will open at 1 PM for a 2 PM start, allowing fans, friends, and family to celebrate the life of a performer who was more than just a face on stage.

Cherry Ripe, who passed away in early August, was a trailblazer in the drag community since her rise with Les Girls in the late 1970s. At a time when drag was met with societal resistance, she graced the stage with both humor and poise, becoming an icon in venues across Melbourne and beyond. In the 1990s, she even took her own drag troupes on the road, keeping live performances alive from coast to coast.
