The festivities kick off with Bourke Street closed to traffic on Friday evening, creating a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere for a mix of DJs, dance performances, and street entertainment. Highlights include a stunning 24-hour light installation in Taylor Square, themed banner galleries paying homage to the street’s history, and a fresh farmers market featuring local produce and artisan goods.

Lord Mayor of Sydney Clover Moore has expressed that this initiative is about rediscovering Oxford Street’s community spirit.
