A new comedy series is stepping up to the plate and swinging for the fences. Produced by Elliot Page and Schitt's Creek star Emily Hampshire, Slo Pitch takes us into the high-stakes, and often chaotic, world of Beer League Softball.
At the center of the story is Joanne Pico, played by Jess Salgueiro. After six consecutive losses, she’s determined to turn her team, The Public Lass Brovaries, into winners while dealing with the fallout of a breakup and a roster full of lovable misfits. The comedic potential is ripe as Joanne navigates disastrous fundraising schemes alongside her team's shenanigans.
The cast is a queer dream team, featuring the talents of Hampshire, Karen Knox, Gwenlyn Cumyn, Emma Hunter, and many more. Notably, the series will also feature guest appearances from Japanese softball superstar Ayami Sato, recognized as the first woman to play in a Canadian men's professional baseball league.
Mark your calendars: Slo Pitch premieres on September 25 on HBO Max. This series isn’t just about the game; it's about the messy, beautiful lives that intersect with it. Get ready for a home run of humor and heart.
