DJ LeeLee: The 5-Year-Old Seeking DJ Stardom

A kindergartner from Utah aims for a Guinness World Record after her festival debut.

At just five years old, DJ LeeLee is redefining what it means to be a DJ, stepping onto the stage at Awaken Music Festival in Utah. While most kids her age are still grappling with bedtime, this kindergartner delivered an impressive 51-minute set, featuring beloved dance anthems like Swedish House Mafia’s 'Don’t You Worry Child' and Zedd’s 'Beautiful Now.' If her record-breaking attempt is approved by Guinness World Records, LeeLee will become the youngest female DJ to perform at a music festival, surpassing the current record holder, DJ Rinoka of Tokyo.

LeeLee’s journey took a step forward when Guinness approved her application in early July, paving the way for her performance on August 15. Documentation was submitted for review on August 25, and her family anticipates a decision within 12 weeks. At 5 years and 157 days old, she is more than a year and a half younger than Rinoka, who set the record at 6 years and 351 days.

This isn’t LeeLee's first encounter with record books. She and her 7-year-old collaborator, CXRTER, recently earned recognition as the youngest b2b DJ duo by combined age. Performing regularly under the name DJ Faculty Lounge, the duo recently entertained an audience of roughly 700 at their elementary school's back-to-school night.

Looking ahead, LeeLee is already eyeing her next challenge: breaking the Guinness record for the youngest female DJ to perform at a club, a title currently held by Rinoka as well. With aspirations this high, it’s clear DJ LeeLee is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
