Queer Amsterdam at De Nieuwe Kerk stays open through April 2027

Queer Amsterdam — the Pink City exhibition at De Nieuwe Kerk has had its run extended and will remain open until 4 April 2027. the show maps queer life in the city and now gets more runway to reach visitors and residents alike.

History. Pride. Reckoning. Amsterdam wears all three, and now one of its biggest queer history shows is sticking around.

Queer Amsterdam, subtitled the Pink City, is staged at De Nieuwe Kerk on Dam Square. organisers have extended the exhibition's run to 4 April 2027.

the show traces queer life in Amsterdam across time. it gathers records, stories and cultural moments that help explain how the city became a focal point for lgbtq+ life in holland and beyond.

an extension like this matters. it means more people can see a curated account of queer lives — not as a footnote, but as part of the city's public history. it also buys space for difficult conversations about visibility, policing, shelter and community memory.

so go while it's still up. De Nieuwe Kerk is easy to find on Dam Square, and the extra months give locals and visitors a chance to sit with the past — and the present — in the same room.
