Victoria's Pride Street Party swallows Fitzroy and Collingwood for a day

Midsumma's big closer returns 7 February 2027 with Mo'Ju, multiple stages and a free all-day party across two suburbs.

Victoria's Pride Street Party is back, and this time it's swallowing two suburbs whole.

Midsumma has locked in 7 February 2027 for the return of its big closer, taking over Gertrude and Smith Streets in Fitzroy and Collingwood for a free, all-day celebration that shuts down the precinct from morning to night. Multiple stages. DJs. Live performances. Queer artists. Food trucks. Local traders. The lot.

Mo'Ju headlines. Thandi Phoenix is second on the bill. Armana Khan, Cle Morgan, Dyan Tai, Kevin Silvester, PacifiqueX and Umbra Moon are all confirmed, with more to come.

The street party closes out Midsumma Festival 2027, which runs from 17 January to 7 February. It's the release after three weeks of programming, the moment the whole city shows up, and the reason Gertrude and Smith Streets matter to queer Melbourne. You don't go to a street party to see one act. You go because the precinct itself becomes the event, and every corner has something happening.

This is the mechanism: Midsumma spends three weeks building momentum across theatres, galleries, clubs and community spaces. The Pride March sends 10,000 people down Fitzroy Street in St Kilda on 31 January, and the street party is where all that energy lands. It's not the start of Pride season. It's the exhale.

The event is free, all ages, and Midsumma has put real work into access. Wheelchair and mobility scooter access across the site. Auslan interpretation on the Smith Street stage. Roving interpreters in the stallholder precinct. Accessible toilets in every temporary block. A designated viewing area near the front of the main stage. An Elders Retreat and low-sensory space at Charcoal Lane, indoors and air-conditioned, open 12pm to 7pm.

There's also an accessible drop-off bay on Smith Street, near Charles Street, with volunteers on hand. If you need one-on-one support navigating the precinct, Midsumma's access coordinator is contactable on site or via text and phone on 0419 682 064.

Before the street party, Victoria's Pride fans out across the state with 15 regional events. Queer songwriting and poetry in Beechworth. Cosplay and creature creation in Bendigo. Photography in the Mallee. LGBTQIA+ history in the Wimmera. The idea is to hand the mic to regional artists and communities so they can build new work close to home, rather than trekking to the capital for it.

Pride March registration is open now, free for groups or solo marchers, and stays open until November 2026. The march itself is 31 January, down Fitzroy Street in St Kilda, with spectators packing footpaths and balconies.

The street party is delivered by Midsumma in partnership with the Victorian Government. It's a celebration of how far we've come, the communities that got us here, and the fact that for one day, Fitzroy belongs to us.

Free. All day. Everyone welcome.

Bring your people.
